  • All materials on the device must be appropriate for school use.
  • eReading devices is a privilege, not a right.

SDIS Recycling Program

An informational note from Mrs. Lillie:   Help us Recycle!

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to S-DIS!   We offer recycling right here at school. Many of these items are reused or created into something new. The best part is that these items are kept out of the landfill which is a big plus for our environment.   Please collect these materials, make sure they are clean (dairy and cheese wrappers), and then have your child bring them to school. There are collection bins around the building, in both the 5th and 6th grade levels, or they can be brought to Mrs. Lillie's room.   After collected, these are sent to TerraCycle and our school receives a small stipend. TerraCycle offers national programs (Brigades®) to collect previously non-recyclable or hard to recycle waste. Visit their site:   Thanks! Mrs. Lillie

  • Dairy Tub Brigade:   yogurt tubs and lids, sour cream tubs and lids, cheese tubs and lids, cream cheese bugs and lids, butter and margarine tubs and lids, plastic ice cream tubs and lids, chipped topping tubs and lids, pudding tubs and lids, and any foil tops and plastic seals.
  • Cheese Wrappers - yes Cheese wrappersJ.   Any single wrappers from sticks or individual slices, bags from sliced or shredded cheese, etc.
  • Drink Pouches: aluminum and plastic drink pouches with straws or spouts (no need to remove the straws). Send to school in a plastic bag so there are no leaks.
  • Glue bottles and sticks (do not need to be cleaned)
  • Tape plastic dispensers and plastic cores
  • Pens, markers, dry erase markers, and highlighters (no crayons or wooden pencils).
  • Cell phones: used and broken cell phones can be recycled in the container near the bookstore.
